How Can Severe Itching And Flakiness On The Scalp Be Treated?

for about the last 7 or 8 months.....my scalp is very flaky and it itches all the time. I scratch my head all the time and I end up with raw places and even knots come up on my head. I can barely wash it or comb it. I have tried medicated shampoo and 2 other shampoos for dandruff. I can t get rid of the itching and burning. What can I do?

Hi,

This is like seborrheic dermatitis. But it can't be said for sure without seeing. Initially we try medicated shampoo but if that don't work, mild steroids may be needed to apply. Howe'ver it must be confirmed. So see your dermatologist who would confirm and advice further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
