How Can Severe Headaches Be Treated?

I recently went to the ER because my head was beyond hurting and my arms went numb and it was hard for me to speak. The dr there said it was a complex migraine but he never did any blood work or anything. Since then I have been nauseous, had 3 what felt like migraines, constant headaches, and diarrhea and sometimes vomiting. My head is sore to the touch as well. What should I do? And is there any chance someone might now what’s going on just by the symptoms?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Severe head ache along with nausea and vomiting could be a symptom of migraine. As of now you can take analgesics like Tramadol for symptomatic relief. You can also take Triptan for preventing further attack of head ache and Domperidone for nausea and vomiting. Avoid sleep deprivation and excessive stress and anxiety as these can predispose you to another attack. If symptoms persist, you can consult a neurologist and get evaluated. You might require an MRI scan to rule out other conditions causing head ache.
