My ear is hurting since Friday 2 days ago. I started with cvs brand ear ache homeopathy drops, I am a swimmer. After two days the ear was hurting even more so I got drying ear drops equate brand from Walmart and have used it three times today. Right now my ear is throbbing and feels heavy. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Th symptoms you are experiencing is likely due to otitis externa/swimmer's ear.
Confirmation of diagnosis is by ear examination.
Mild infections can be treated with Cipro HC ear drops. More severe infection requires treatment with oral ciprofloxacin.
Cleaning the ear with acetic acid solution and also help clear up the infection and prevent future recurrence.
Please be advised to follow up with an ENT specialist for further evaluation and management.

Hope this answers your question
