How Can Severe Backache And Osteoarthritis Be Treated?

I have quite a few autoimmune conditions, plus, severe back pain and osteoarthritis in my neck and hips and spine, and I m getting my gallbladder out on Monday. I ve already had my tonsils out in April and a hysterectomy on June 28th that has not yet healed. I have to go back in 3 months to the oncologist. However, I m always tired, and I run fevers all the time lately. Plus, my finger joints hurt again like when I had RA. What is going on with all these health conditions and the fever? Do I have lupus? I have Sjogren s, so that does affect internal organs, but my God! Plus, I have centralized sleep apnea and severe narcolepsy.

Hi,

Sjogrens and RA are both kind of like lupus and affects multiple systems. They are autoimmune too. Steroids have been the mainstay since long but we also have a lot of antimetabolite drugs which work when symptoms are not controllable with steroids or when patients don't respond well to them.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita
