Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per the severity of the symptoms, this is not normal gastric upset condition, it can be erosive gastritis, ulcer, hiatus hernia with GERD or else.
* In our clinic, we recommend a thorough evaluation with upper GI endoscopy and relevant investigations to reach at the root of the issue and manage accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I have acid reflux, and I ve had it for four years. I started taking Nexium but wasn t helping me. They prescribed Lansoprozole 30 mg. I ve been taking that pill for three years, and it s been about five months that I stopped eating fatty foods, spicy foods, whole milk, anything that contains tomatoes, coffee, and my favorite food chocolate. I ve always been a size 4 or 5, I m now wearing a size 2. I still suffer from acid reflux, it s not as bad though. But my question is will I always have acid reflux? My gastroenterologist said I m a candidate for surgery. If I have this surgery will my acid reflux stop. I will no longer have pain in my throat and my lymph notes won t be swollen and I won t have that burning sensation on my throat and ears? And will I be able to eat the foods that make me sick now?

My son, 50, has had acid reflux attacks on and off since early this morning. He does take a prescription for it, but it still flares up occasionally. Is there anyhing I can give him to stop the spitting up of the bile/phlegm. He s been vomiting it all day.

Hi. I have acid reflux issues and it seems to be getting worse (maybe due to stress). I was taking ranitidine but that has not been helping. The doctor gave me a capsule (half purple, half beige color). Also found out I had a bladder infection. I m currently taking Cipro for UTI. I have zero appetite and have to force food down with water. My stomach is bloated and hurts to the touch. What can I eat or drink to reduce the stomach inflammation?
