How Can Severe ADHD In A Toddler Be Treated?

We have a 3 year old that is so hyper, we have to give her meds to help go to sleep and most of the time it only works about 4 hours and we have to give her another dose. During the day she runs around, not able to sit for any amount of time she will not listen to her mother or father . They have tried everything including spa kings, but only works for a mi Ute or two and she is back doing what she was told not to. Her grandmother was the same way and she ended up with quitting school and having a very low self esteem.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

After going through your child history, it seems to me that your child is full of energy. So I would suggest you instead of treating him diseased treat him like a normal child and try to drain out his energy by involving him in many activities. And along with it, the child should receive some counseling sessions or behavior therapy so that the child's energy could be converted to positive energy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Medhavi Agarwal
