How Can Ringworm Infection On The Left Foot Be Treated?

I have a bright red splotch on the top right side of my left foot. Twice before I have treated it as ringworm with jock itch cream and it went away. It has returned, is a larger splotch, and no longer has the ring of ringworm. It itches and is a little sensitive, especially with shoes on.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can apply over the counter Lotrimin antifungal cream to treat the ringworm infection. Avoid wearing tight and closed shoes. Clean the area thoroughly and keep your foot dry. It can take two weeks to completely clear up the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
