How Can Rheumatoid Arthritis Be Treated?

I have rheumatoid arthritis and am taking injections of methotrexate weekly and also take plaqunil . I have bone erosion in my feet. I am 77 and seem to be getting weaker and my feet and legs are bothering me more lately. I don t seem to be able to walk as good as I used to. Is the RA causing this or could it just be age? I have always been active and now I am always tired, fall asleep a lot.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Are you already under treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, continue treatment as advised. You can take tab. Febuxostat after consultation. Difficulty in waking may be due to rheumatoid arthritis.
Kindly do X-ray of affected joints.

Apply Diclofenac gel.

Take care.
