How Can Recurrent Typhoid Fever Be Treated?

I have been treating typhoid fever for more that six month now, I use to feel better but after a month, I fell sick again and discover after the test that it s typhoid again. Now, cefuroxime 500mg as been recommend for me. Pls I need to now if this will solve it permanently. Thanks

You need to understand that typhoid is an infection.And an infection can recur. Usually the resistance to infection develops to one type of bacteria.
But one can always develop another infection from the other bacteria that also cause typhoid. So one needs to take care of how a possible infection can recur and avoid the possible sources of infection and use clean water and sanitary areas. As for the antibiotic, yes it can help with the current infection. However, as explained above, it cannot assure absence of recurrence.
