How Can Recurrent Scarlet Fever Be Treated?

Hi, my 5 yrs old son have Scarlet fiver. Fiver comes and goes, rash over his body, fiver 102-103. I just came back from the Dr. who prescribed a antibiotics. but fiver still on. What is the best way to lower his temperature? I give lots of cool water, and put in his forehead a tow with ice. I don t know what more to do. Thank you Mary Davis,

The fever can be lowered with the use of medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
Either of these can be given to a child.

If the fever is still high with the use of one medication then the other can be added because there is no interaction between the two.

They are both over the counter medications. Acetaminophen is more commonly known as paracetamol and can be used every 6 hours and ibuprofen can be given every 8 hours.

You should continue the cool water and make sure that he is not dressed too warmly as well.
