How Can Rapid Cycling Bipolar Disorder Be Treated?

I'm a bipolar type 1 I'm 61 years old I was given adderall a few years back and had great results with it. another doctor took it away said I was to old ,I don't have adhd but I do have a rapid cycling mind but it slowed me down. what other meds. natural or pill can I take for this condition.

I can understand your concern. Adderall is an amphetamine drug and though you felt improvement in rapid cycling with this drug but this is not the right way of treatment of rapid cycling bipolar disorder. Adderall even can worsen the bipolar disorder symptoms. Please talk to your doctor for change in drugs.

Drugs like Lithium carbonate or Sodium Valproate can be used for best results in rapid cycling bipolar. The drugs will help to stabilise the mood.

Drugs like low dose Olanzapine or Quetiapine can be used for stabilising the mood too.

Talk to your doctor for prescription.
