I had sx of ocular neuropathy Nov. 20th. By 29th I was totally blind in the affected (right) eye. There was some concern over increasing pressure in both eyes and a quick CT with contrast on Dec. 2nd showed nothing but the ON and i began a prednisone regimen which helped 100% with the pain which is a pressure i felt in my face; even my teeth hurt!. My MRI on Dec. 13th had no leisions; showed only my ON. Today is Dec. 21st. I have no visual improvement at all, and without the prednisone i still have pain. My eye Dr. believes thus is an isolated incident and there's no need for a neurologist. Since my vision loss so bad and I'm not improving, should i see a neurologst for a second opinion?
raised pressure is only glaucoma. iot is to be measured an if raised it can be lowereiredby drop tablet or surgery prednisoloneshould not be started since itcan mask the symptoms later on tapering is required other wise it will have side effect and aggravate the condition fundus examination is to be done to note cup disc ratio it is not a neurologicalproblem problem is limited to raised pressure slit lamp examination and gonioscopy can help to know the present status in both angle can be examined by it occlusion or acute congestive glaucoma can be excludedtrabiculectomy is recommended
