Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had pleurisy many times over the years. usually once or twice a year. I am now retired and take much better care of myself, so it has been a while since I ve been sick. Just left the doc who said it is viral at this point. That s ok. I know what to do and she gave me some good ideas. (There is rheumatoid arthritis in my history, and I have a touch of it.) This time, I have bloating in my abdomen. Cannot eat much. which is also OK. However, I do not remember that symptom with the previous occurrences. What do you think? Is inflammation pressing down on my abdomen?

How Can Pleurisy Be Treated?
Hello, As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a pulmonologist and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
