How Can Pleurisy Be Treated?

Two week ago I was diagnosed with pleurisy and a UTI. I took prednisone and an anti- biotic. Symptoms disappeared and within 3 days the pleurisy was back. I am on a second regimen of prednisone but it does not seem to be working. Is there anything I should be doing other than resting?

Hello,

Pleurisy will settle in couple of weeks in most of the cases.

You can take analgesics like tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult a pulmonologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
