How Can Pinched Nerve In The Lower Back Be Treated?

Hi, I am currently suffering a pinched nerve in my low back that is causing a burning down the outside of my left leg from the hip to the knee. I have Ben having this pain for 3 days. With only a slight improvement. Not moving is relatively comfortable but standing makes the stabbing burn worse. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pinched nerve in lower back can be called Sciatica medically. In your situation first thing is to rule out any major disc problem by taking CT or MRI spine. If it shows no major problem. Then you can do few things to get relief from pain:

1. Take Tablet XERODOL MR (ACECLOFENAC PARACETAMOL AND A MUSCLE RELAXANT) along with Tab PANTOP on empty stomach in the morning which can relieve nerve from irritation. Take Tablet MECOFOL (vitamin b12 and folic acid) which can repair nerve damage

2. Start exercise shown in youtube which can relieve pressure on nerve, but be careful and slow

3. If you are over weight, slowly start losing weight which relieves burden on nerves

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sagar
