Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I have read your question fully and understand your concerns.

The pigmentation that you have is called Melasma. The cream Betnovate-N that you want to use is a combination of strong steroid and antibiotic, normally used when there is dermatitis (skin inflammation) with an infection. Improper use of either strong steroid creams or antibiotics is not advised. Strong steroid creams if not used under doctors advice can lead to skin thinning (as facial skin is very delicate) which will lead to other problems.

You have mentioned that you have used many treatments for your problems – skin lightening creams, laser etc. Some skin lightening creams do have steroids in them, and I guess you would have already used them.

May be you could see another dermatologist for a second opinion taking with you all your old reports, so that your doctor can prescribe you a different combination that has not been tried before

I hope this answer has helped you.

Wish you best of luck.

Thank you

Regards
Dr Sunita Sayammagaru
