How Can Periods Be Postponed?

Hi ,my daughter is 14 years of age,her periods date is expected to be 23rd of December.If she wants to delay the periods for a week for religious traveling purpose,how much is the dose for each day? & at which day of the cycle she should start the tablet norethinderone 5 mg tablet? Her height is 5ft & age is 14

Thanks for contacting with your health concern.

1. This is a common demand in general practice to postpone menses, to avoid it during functions or traveling, so I usually prescribe my female patients:

i. Tablet Regesterone [noresthisterone] 5 mg: 1 tablet twice daily which should be started at least 3 days before the menses, and continue as long as postponement is desired, but generally not more than 10 to 15 days.

PS. you may consult a Gynecologist regarding the same or for other options since the easiest and best ways to delay your periods involve prescription medicines.

. remember that her next periods may be delayed due to hormonal imbalance.
