How Can Periodontitis And Pain In The Mouth Be Treated?

I am having a problem with my Dentist would like to remove all of my upper teeth, due to severe bone loss, he would like to put implants in Is extremely expensive, and I am concerned that it will not work. I had proton brain radiation for a brain tumor and my doctor feels like this is the reason for the bone loss and mouth pain.

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

In case if there is severe bone loss that is leading to loosening of teeth then unfortunately the teeth has to be extracted as without appropriate bone support the teeth cannot be saved..

Secondly if there is very less bone left due to resorption then yes, the implant cannot be done as it also needs sound bone to get integrated..

But in such cases first of all bone grafting is done so that there is appropriate bone formation and bone thickness and height is available for placement of the implants..

So my suggestion to you is to please send me your latest full mouth x ray [Panoromic x ray] and a scan of your prescription paper so that I can have a detailed information and advise you how to proceed..

Also you should get treated by an Implantologist only..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
