How Can Peptic Ulcers Be Treated?

My doctor has been treating an ulcer for 6 months and I am still having symptoms. I am due to get a EGD again on the 18th. This past week, it seems like the medicine isn t helping with the pain and starting yesterday, pain has been non-stop. I have left message for Dr. but I have not heard back. Not sure what to do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

You are complaining of peptic ulcer since six month

For further investigation I will suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for examination and endoscopy if needed

Before endoscopy USG abdomen can be done to do work up

Urea breath test done to rule out h. Pylori infection

If in endoscopy suspected area present then biopsy taken for histopathology examination

Take care

According to cause specific treatment given

Hope your concern solved
