How Can Painful Shingles Be Treated?

Hi, what I need info about is Schingles (sp?) This started to appear Saturday am when I got out of bed. Was first on lower back/waist then progressed to left stomach. I saw my Primary Care Dr. today, and was given scripts for Antiviral and Gebapentin. But it really hurts still and I m unable to sleep. 1. can I combine this with sleeping pills? 2. Is there anything to put on it to help relieve Pain? An article of the WEB said to use Calamine Lotion and cold. What can you suggest?

Hello,

Shingle is a painful condition which needs to be managed by painkillers.
You may combine painkillers with sleeping pills after consulting your primary healthcare provider to avoid any possible drug interaction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
