How Can Painful Hemorrhoid Be Treated?

Is it normal or even possible to have a hemerrhoid at the top of the butt crack near the tail bone? Im asking because ive had an abcess here before that i had to have cut open and drained and packed etc several years ago and ive had my fiance look at whats going on now and it does not appear to be another abcess. It appears to be a hemerrhoid and is painful to the touch when wiping or sitting certain ways and im not sure if this is serious but would like it to go away.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I would suggest to consult general surgeon for proper examination. Treatment will depend on severity and condition of hemorrhoids. So clinical examination is must for better management. You can take following advises meanwhile:

- Hot fomentation and warm water sitz bath.
- Use Anovate ointment twice a day.
- Apply lignocaine ointment few minutes before going to pass stool.

Take a laxative like Cremaffin 15 ml at bed time to make your stool soft. Other treatment should be taken after proper assessment.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
