Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How can I find pain relief for an external hemorrhoid until I can get to a doctor to have surgery on it. Have bad pain for a week and tried almost everything -- sitz, creams, suppositories, prep H, aspirins. Any other suggestions? What about hydroco/apap -- which i want to avoid.
Your symptoms seem to be related to external haemorrhoids. I see that you have already used creams for local application.
I recommend using noninflammatory medication such ad Ibuprofen three times a day. If the symptoms continue I recommend using hydrocodone/acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
