How Can Pain And Swelling In The Feet Be Treated?

Five days ago a guy wearing boots stepped on the top of my foot while I was wearing flip flops. The heel of his boot hit my foot about 2 under my 3 middle toes. It was very painful but happened quickly so I didn t think much of it. By the next day, my foot was bruised, swollen and very sore, but I could walk on it with minimal pain. Last couple of days it has felt tingling sensation that radiates up to my ankle. It s been very sore, throbbing and the bruise, which started under my 3 middle toes, has spread between my toes and down the outside of my foot. It s not a dark, black bruise, more bluish color with dark spots. I can still move it but I can t flex my foot out. My toes won t bend backwards. Could be from swelling. I m still able to walk on it, but I thought it would have gotten better by now. Thank you for your input.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It might be due to a minor contusion of the foot. As the first line of management, you can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
