Hi I struggle with joint pain and stiffness on my left side. My left ankle swells, my left leg feels heavy which alters my walking, my left arm doesn t swing and is held stiff, my left ring finger hurts at the joint. My podiatrist says I am flat footed and have osteoarthritis and my neurologist says I have the onset of Parkinson s. I don t believe it. What do you think? Lisa

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and greetings

If you have only joint and muscle related issues and no neurological symptoms, then most probably it's osteoarthritis or some other type of arthritis like rheumatoid.

Get x-ray or scan done of your joints as well as inflammatory markers for correct diagnosis.

Thanks
