How Can Pain And Dryness Of Eyes Be Treated?

My eyes have always been a problem. They are dry, but not normal dry sometimes my eyes pop when I blink because they are so dry. Most days they cause my head to hurt until I get eye drops, however it only last for a few seconds. I want to know if there is something different I can do to stop the pain and dryness.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having dryness of eyes. Dry eyes can lead to corneal erosions which are the cause for pain in the eyes. The treatment of dry eyes is by artificial tears eye drops.
At the same time you require evaluation by a ophthalmologist to look for the type, cause and severity of the dry eye and to plan the next mode of treatment.
The other options available are use of lacrimal plugs, steroids, cyclosporine eye drops.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
