How Can Oedipal Complex Be Dealt With?

my boyfrend suffers an oedipal complex. he is very inteligent, succsesfull in his bussines. he doesnt wont to see a therpist, thinking that his problems are just 'the way he is'. I need advice how to deal with him, and how to show him that i am there for him,without any expectations. thank you!

Oedipus complex is a desire for sexual involvement with the parent of the opposite sex and a concomitant sense of rivalry with the parent of the same sex; a crucial stage in the normal developmental process. If this is what you suspect of, your friend is in the process of development and is normal upto an extent. Your friend should understand himself and the society of his own. If it crossess the limits, he needs therapeutic intervention. Start with psychological counseling.
