How Can Nausea Along With Pressure In The Sinuses Be Treated?

I have been dealing with nausea, extreme sinus pressure (I think it s sinus as it seems to travel to all of the sinuses above eye, side of eyes, cheeks and eye pressure) acid reflux(at least that is what is suspected) and LPR (again suspected). Taking nexium 20 mg in morning and ranitidine 150 mg at night. Not sleeping well at all waking up with dry throat despite humidifier. Been dealing with this for two weeks and on nexium for fourth day. Believed I was feeling better yesterday and most of today but then this evening the nausea and head pressure have resurfaced. CAT SCAN was OK and heart checks fine despite some occasional palpitations. Events seemed to have been triggered by three doses of prednisone three weeks ago and it s been a crazy ride. My sinuses and throat are so dry no matter what I do and then sometimes they seem to drain and cause the nausea. Any answers/suggestions?

Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. From your description of pain in the sinus area of face it seems you are suffering from sinusitis. It is important to take steam inhalation and appropriate broad spectrum antibiotics with antihistamines and mast cell stabilizers. All In all it is important to consult an otolaryngeologist for this condition. Sinusitis leads to inflammatory reaction in the sinuses and the discharge drains at the back of the throat causing a post nasal drip. This post nasal drip might cause nausea. For reflux you are already taking proton pump inhibitor and antacid which is good enough. Thanks.
