General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would advise you to have an MRI to rule out any damage to the meniscus or ligaments in the knee. According to the findings in the MRI, further treatment will be decided.
Especially if you would like to be involved in sports, having an MRI is very important to guide treatment and bring complete healing.
Physiotherapy is something that can be tried meanwhile and also anti-inflammatories such as high dose ibuprofen.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
