How Can Lichen Sclerosus Be Treated?

I was just diagnosed w/ lichen sclerosis in the vulva area....I take supplements, eat healthy and try to use environmental safe ingredients? What kind of certain foods should I increase and supplements should I be taking. I have been a shaklee supplement customer most of my life. I have never smoked and live a so called healthy life style. What could I improve on? Very small area of lichen but I do not agree with steroid use...I am trying to use organic products.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Potent topical corticosteroids are the first line of treatment for lichen sclerosus. As you do not agree with steroid use, you can go for Tacrolimus or Pimecrolimus cream/ointment. Please consult your Dermatologist for these treatment options.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
