Hi, i have some marks on my legs from shaving long marks darker than my skin. I have some up coming celebrity events where i will be photographed and i will be wearing knee length dresses am going to see a dermotologist what kind of dermotologist should i see and what do you think is the best for this situation. I have tried shea butter and they have lightened a little i need to have them removed asap. Hopefull my insurance can cover it. Thank you

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic.

Dark color is due to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation/ PIH. PIH is non-specific reaction to any inflammatory insult to the skin.
If I was the treating doctor I would suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone propionate 0.05% cream, twice daily for 2-3 weeks.
Steroids help lighten the dark spots due to Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation/ PIH.
Topical steroids are prescription medications and therefore I suggest that you talk to your doctor for the needful.
