How Can Lead And Mercury Poisoning Be Treated?

i was poisoned ( lead , mercury, cadmium, and arsenic ) at the Exide Battery plant in Vernon, CA. The California EPA shut the plant down a few months later. Exide pulverized car batterys there before turing most of the dust into lead ingots. I was there to transport the lead ingots to Lewisville, ID. They did not give me a respirator. From near perfect, my resting blood pressure is 204/133; and my heartbeat rose from 61 to 97. Is there anything that I can do ?

Hi,

Heavy metals such as lead and mercury have documented the potential for serious health consequences.

I do not know which type of treatment you are taking right now. The first step of treatment is to eliminate the exposure.

Other forms of treatment may include Chelating agents which bind to the metal and are then excreted in your urine.

Chelation therapy might be recommended for adults with high blood levels of lead or symptoms of lead poisoning.

A diuretic, corticosteroid drugs, or intracranial monitoring for swelling of the brain. Hemodialysis and/or other special treatments if kidney failure occurs.

You should Maintain nutrient sufficiency, as an adequate intake of essential trace minerals may reduce toxic metal uptake.

Also, limit consumption of high-mercury fish to no more than 1 serving/week.

It would have been better had you also mentioned the treatment that you are on right now.

I suggest you should visit your primary care physician for complete evaluation and the possible further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
