How can itchy rashes on the body be treated?

my daughter has a skin condition where if she scratches herself (say her arm or leg) it immediately whelps up and gets hot and continues to itch her even more. This is an immediate reaction to the light scratching that should not be whelping her up This happens regardless of the weather conditions.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This is all kind of normal reaction in children and it will resolve spontaneously as child gets older. You can apply soothing agents like aloevera lotion. Use only soaps with low potency, baby soaps will be better. If symptoms are severe consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
