How Can Itchy And Hyperpigmented Scars On The Face Be Treated?
Hello doc,15 years back I had 2 moles on face which I tried removing it thru garlic and calcium hydroxide mixture paste which left ugly scars which actually look like burn marks.they are pigmented ,change colour a/c to Sun exposure n sometimes itchy.I have thru 2 sitting of fraction abrasion laser but I saw no change.should I go for co2 laser or is there any other treatment.I m confused n upset .
It looks like the skin is burned with garlic leading to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.. The black spots seems to be due to it.. Change in colour or tenderness in the area can be due to sensitive skin in the area of the burnt skin..
So when there is tenderness you can do ice packs over it.
To reduce dark spots you can start applying Kojic acid containing ointment over it. Apply Vitamin E gel over it.. Scrub twice a week using a face scrub. Apply aloevera gel and gently massage regularly . Always apply sunscreen lotion when going out, Take a Vitamin C candy daily..
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora, Dentist
