How Can Itching And Inflammation On The Body Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed by a dermatologist with eczema the past year. My hands keep flaring up with sx of itching, inflammation, open sores, and skin breakdown. I have tried 3 different kinds of steroids and I am afraid all it s doing is making my skin thin that it cracks and opens a lot. Been making my own lotions with Shea butter, vegetable oils, essential oils, rose hip oil to make sure I am using pure and chemical free moisturizers. My allergy scratch test was negative but am scheduled for allergy testing for nickel. I feel that touching metal irritates my skin. Please advice. Thank you so much!

Hello,

If you are having an allergy to metals, try to avoid metal items. The best thing you can use is antihistaminic rather than using steroids.

Steroids are very bad to the body; it will decrease your immune response and will prone you to infections which can get widespread. Try to avoid steroids if at all it’s not indicated.

Try any antihistaminic drugs like Cetirizine, Levocetirizine, et cetera. All this might help you to solve your problems immediately.

Use your lotions prepared which is best for your skin and get your nickel test done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Archana
