How Can Irritation And Pain In The Eyes Be Treated?

I was washing my face and got some salicylic acid (2%) in my eye, so i washed it out with water and saline contact solution. It doesnt hurt now but is red, and when i rinse it out with saline again it hurts a little but then goes away. Should I go see a doctor? or am I fine if I just wait it out. Also, can I put my contact back in? Thank you

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Don't use contact lenses for some time . use some preservative artificial tear drops like systane ultra five times for a week . It should be fine by then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
