hello doctor...i am 22 years old...i got married one year before...i have a irregular periods from past 5 years...after married i consult a doctor...she diagnosed pcos on me...i took metformin..but no use...then she suggested duphaston..my problem is i have 25 days period in one month after 5 days i have period again....now i am in duphaston..have no period after taking duphaston....is duphaston stop periods?

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
PCOD is due to hormonal imbalance causing absence of ovulation.This only causes prolonged periods . Metformine is a drug to treat insulin resistance causing hormonal imbalance.... needs to be taken for a long time & if it is accompanied by exercises it helps in lessening weight too.
For the bleeding problem you would need oral contraceptive according to your health( it is to be taken very strictly as advised)for 3-6 months f. Please consult a gynecologist
