Hello, I am 19 years old and have been having irregular periods since I ve first started at 10 years of age. I got on birth control when I was 18, April 3 2015 and got off sometime in January 2016 and didn t get my next Depo shot which was February 28 but my period never came back and I was actually on it before I stopped in January and it also stopped so I purchased dong quai to bring it back in April of 2016 I got a period a few days before mothers day of taking it for awhile and it started off spotting for a month on and off and now it hasn t stopped and it s been 5 months I ve been on my period. I bought red raspberry tea capsules cause it s a herb that helps stop periods and regulates it and it stopped for a few days and came back and it s been two weeks of it again and I have no insurance and want to know what is the best herb for this cause I do not want to waste my time again

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Adequate treatment for your condition may only be obtained if the exact cause is identified and treated.Dysfunctional/irregular uterine bleeding may be caused by many medical conditions. Some possible causes may include:
-Hormonal imbalances/ovarian dysfunction
-STI/PID
-Pelvic masses
-Pregnancy and related complications are less likely in your case given the duration of your symptoms.
The best thing to do will be to see a Gynecologist to have the cause investigated.Tests that may help identify cause may include: pelvic ultrasound, SIT/PID work-ups, hormonal work-ups such as progesterone and ostrogen levels.
In most women, the cause of this condition is hormonal imbalance that may respond well on combined progestin and ostrogen pills. You may see your Doctor for a prescription after eliminating infectious and organic causes of such symptoms
Hope this will help
Best regards
