Hi,

You should get another dose of mebendazole and follow strict hygienic measures. Usually, 1 dose of mebendazole is enough to eradicate threadworm. But sometimes the second dose of mebendazole is necessary after 2 weeks.

Threadworm easily spreads through the eggs from person to person or re-infect a person from infected self-items.

Therefore, to avoid spreading the threadworm eggs during the treatment and for a few weeks afterwards, you should follow strict hygiene measures.

Also, any family members who are diagnosed with threadworms should be treated. Rarely threadworms, if untreated, may cause inflammation in the vagina, uterus or in urinary tracts.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
