Doctor my wife is now 8 months pregnant, she is having trouble sleeping.she wakes up at odd hours at night due to which she is not getting enough sleep. My gynecologist prescribed alprax 0.25 for 5 days. After reading about the medicine over the net,it made me wonder is it ok or should I consult some other doctor. please suggest me what to do.

It is difficult to sleep in pregnancy due to increased weight and abdominal size. Try help with a sleep pillow to make her comfortable. Practice meditation and yoga. Avoid caffeine. If she has prescribed then it must be OK to take alprax. However you can try the above measures first
