How Can Interrupted Sleep And Difficulty In Falling Asleep After Awaking Be Managed?

My problem is sleep related. I m a 66 yo active, healthy male with a recent decrease in my sleep quality. I have no problem falling asleep but consistently awaken @ 1:30 to 2:00 & then again @ 4:00 to 4:30am. I go to sleep around 11:30pm & have difficulty returning to sleep each time I awaken. Even though I get oob between 7:00 to 7:30am I feel like I m dragging until I exercise. No prostate issues. With 10mgs of ambien, taken biweekly, I only awaken once but wake up in the AM feeling rested. Any suggestions would be vastly appreciated. Thanx, Howard

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello

As you explain the history it would be better for you to be examined by a specialist pulmonologist for sleep disorders (polysomnography).

Regards

Dr.Jolanda
