How can insomnia be treated?

I have trouble sleeping thru the night. I am 69 years old, male, took a sleep apnea test, received a cpap machine but seem to get lung infections. the last time was am episode of pneumonia. Just a guess but maybe the flu shot I got just before the pneumonia may have had an effect. Question: what else besides cpap may help me get sleep? I wake almost every rem. My left kidney was removed 4 years ago. Thanks

Hi,

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Is the Gold-Standard for Treating Chronic Insomnia. If improving sleep hygiene and other lifestyle changes alone don't help with your sleep, the next step is cognitive behavioral therapy to improve sleep and reverse chronic insomnia. Aloud says it's a better option than medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
