Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Congratulations on your achievement! I can tell you are very concerned and there is so much at stake with your blood pressure so very high in light of also doing power lifting putting you at an even higher risk of having an adverse cardiac event.

I must be stern regarding the number of eggs you are eating. To consume that much cholesterol at one time is only asking your arteries to clog up with plaque. The more plaque accumulated from saturated fats/cholesterol both or either will cause blood vessels to narrow and pressure to go higher. So he first suggestion is to limit cholesterol to 300 mg per day. Protein is better obtained from lean meats and isolated whey with branched chain amino acids with possibly some creatine.

Next, I suggest o you to increase your potassium intake from fresh fruits, vegetables.

Thirdly, decrease your sodium to 1500 mg per day, remove the salt shaker from your table and read labels. Now this is tricky. If you are sweating and losing fluid from working out you need to replace electrolytes so remaining in electrolytes balance is key. More potassium, less sodium.

If you are trying to get your nitric oxide up for performance purposes, I suggest use of Lcitrulline rather than Arginine as Lcitrulline might help lower blood pressure and you won't get caught in an arginine "loop"so if you are taking arginine, discontinue.

Get a home blood pressure monitoring kit and check your pressure at various times of the day and keep a record for your doctor. If these dietary modifications do not get your blood pressure down the doctor will have to place you on medication.

I hope these general guidelines are adequate to lower your blood pressure without medication. I wish yo luck and success in future endeavors. Do not hesitate to make an appointment with a sports Dietitian if you need help with your diet and menus.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
