How Can High Blood Pressure Be Treated?

My mother in law has a blood pressure of 196 over 86. She is not suffering any other symptom. Should she wait till Monday to see her doctor or should she go to the hospital. She is 84 and already takes heart meds. Family history of stroke. For her age she is in good health She has a good pulse.
