How Can Hearing Loss Along With Vertigo Be Treated?

I have experienced sudden hearing loss after a tooth extraction last October. Since that time, I have had vertigo and constant pressure and plugged ears. It comes and goes. Some days are better than others. I have been to an ENT, she said it was a viral assault , that is her only explanation. She did an MRI of my head - clear & normal. Why am I still experiencing this. Sometimes I am so dizzy I fall into the wall. Other times, not so. But I have constant ringing in my ear, and now my other ear is plugging up. I m always blowing air through my nose to hope for unplugging. Sometimes the ear unplugs, But the last 2 days have been miserable. I tried some ear drops and some under the tongue homeopathic, over counter meds, dramamine, and some methocarbimol. - nothing. works.

Hello,

Tooth extraction will not cause hearing loss. I think you have problem with your Eustachian tubes. It may be due to Infection or due to allergy.

So, you need to avoid cool drinks, freeze water, and cold environment. Use salt water gargling, water vapor inhalation. Also, use tablet Alday DC twice a day, for five days.

If symptoms do not improve, please consult your ENT specialist, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
