How Can Fungus Infection On Toes Be Treated?

"Hi,

I've been suffering from an itchy and runny nose, sneezing, also dryness in the mouth when I wake up in the morning. this is not allergies. I have a fungus infection on my tows and was told by someone that my symptoms are a result of the fungus and she advised me to take grapefruit seed extract capsules along with some other vitamins. while I take the vitamins I feel much better, but not perfect, and if I stop the symptoms come right back.

I also tried treating the fungus infection through a foot doctor by taking Lamisil orally along with a cream for the foot and I also had laser done, but the fungus is not getting better.

Any advice on 1)how to treat the fungus, and 2)what my symptoms are coming from, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much!

Hi,

I can understand your concern for fungal infection. You have not told us your age and any other problem such as diabetes.

Fungal infection of the skin is quite common in this hot weather and the further spread of infection to nearby of other parts.

To prevent the further spread maintain good hygiene by taking two times bath, wearing cotton clothes and change of clothes two times. You can also use nay good medicated antiperspirant powder. Stay away from hot and humid climate.

You can use clotrimazole cream or terbinafine cream locally over the affected areas and take tablet terbinafine by mouth for 14 days under dermatological supervision.

Take care.
