How Can Fungal Infection On The Toe Nail Be Treated?

Hi. My big toenail has grown back after a fungal infection caused the old one to fall off. The past few months I ve noticed it has changed. It doesn t grow, it s almost like it s growing the opposite way (back into the base where the skin over folds the nail) it s slightly red around the area and tender to touch. The nail itself is discoloured, thicker and curved. Is there anything I can do to rectify?

Since it is discolored, possibility of fungal and bacterial infections is also high.
Best treatment is surgical removal of nail and antifungal and antiseptic cream for dressing.
