How can fever with sore throat and bloody sputum be treated?
Since Thursday May 26th I ve been ill. It started off as a small little virus or bug that I suspected I got from a friend. Later, I got strep throat and as I was recovering from strep I quit smoking cigarettes. Presently I have a sore throat, frequent headaches, sinus pressure and subsequent nasal discharge. My sputum ranges is milky to yellow/green to brown/dark brown/black [likely from the coughing up tar, and most disturbingly, tinged with blood.
It could be a bout of pharyngitis. As a first line management you can take antibiotics like Amoxclav for symptomatic relief. Do warm saline gargles also. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you all the best. Thank you.
