Hi, I ve had a fever/headache on and off for the past week. I thought it was the beginning of a coffee dependence until I noticed the fever. Then I thought it was a cold, until my right tonsil started hurting a lot and swelling up. Today I woke up with a pain in my right ear (I assume it s an infection, since I ve felt this transition before when I had mono. Later tonight I started having foamy spit. It s very very hard to swallow and to speak; since I can t go to the doctor right away I googled home remedies for swollen tonsils (I was popping cough syrups at work all night). I gargled with warm salt water, but I accidentally swallowed a bit and vomited some bile. Then I figured if I gargled hydrogen peroxide it could help with the infection (my mom is a dentist and I know she prescribes swishing hydrogen peroxide for minor infections). I did this, again swallowed a bit of it, and this time vomited a lot of brown goop, white foam (I assume the hydrogen peroxide), and very very thick, stringy phlegm? Mucus? This was yellow in color and the texture of plastic netting (just as hard and very stringy and connected). I will go to the doctor tomorrow, but would like to know what this is... thank you!
