How Can Ferritin Levels Be Lowered?

I had low ferritin iron for years around a 9 and regular iron was in the low normal range at 30. Couldn t tolerate supplements so I had an iron infusion for ferritin about 8 wks ago. Now regular iron is 100, but ferritin is 98. I know that is high and wondering if it will balance out and lower with more time, or if I should try to do something to lower it. I know it should be around 50, definitely not over 80 Worried about iron overload.

Hello,

Normal serum ferritin levels range from 12 to 300 nanograms per millilitre of blood (ng/mL) for males and 12 to 150 ng/mL for females. So don't worry ok.

Continue to take iron supplements they help to improve serum iron ferritin levels.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
