General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I understand your concern.

Mucous production in throat is increased due to gastro oesophageal reflux disease.

If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-Continue with omeprazole dose as prescribed.
Oral cetrizine will help against allergy
-Avoid hot, spicy food and food with high fat content. As high fat food has delayed gastric emptying.Avoid alcohol and caffeine as it may excaberate the situation.
-Have a gap of 3 hours after dinner before going to bed.Sleep with head elevation.
-Keep body weight within control by regular exercising.
-Take steam inhalation or cough expectorant 2tsps twice for 2 days for unplugging of thick mucous from throat
-Avoid smoking/exposure to air pollutants .

Hope this information helps.
Feel free to ask any more doubt if you have.
